Former Chairman of Central Regional Football Association, M.N.S Doe believes local players should be given the chance to play in the Black Stars instead of recalling Kevin Prince Boateng.
There have been many divergent views on Kevin Prince Boateng’s return after declaring his intention to play for the country two years into his suspension.
Many have urged head coach of the team, Avram Grant to recall him into the squad ahead of the must win game against Egypt in Alexandria due to his impressive form with Spanish side, Las Palmas but Mr. Doe thinks Avram Grant should give local players the chance to excel on the international stage.
“The Black Stars is not built around one player, it’s a team and as such, one player cannot disrupt the good work done over years. When a player refuses to show up at a committee set up by the government for further clarification, why should he come and join the team again?
“We have so many good local players who can fit into his position easily. They also need that call-up to show the world their worth and I don’t believe there is a player who is indispensable. Give the local based players the chance instead,” he said.
