First batch of ‘stranded’ UK returnees go into mandatory quarantine

-

Some 224 Ghanaians stranded in the United Kingdom (UK) have successfully returned home through a special arrangement dubbed ‘Operation Return Home’.

This comes on the back of moves by the government to mitigate the impact of the novel coronavirus on Ghanaians caught up abroad as international border restrictions were triggered as a global response mechanism.

All returnees have, since their arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, gone into mandatory quarantine at various hotels they booked ahead of touchdown in the country on June 17.

The second and last batch of returnees from Europe is expected in the country on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
