A sprinter bus with a registration number GN 3421-14 got burnt beyond recognition at a welding shop in Sawaba a suburb of the Northern regional capital, Tamale.
The fire incident occurred after the driver of a commercial vehicle sent the the vehicle to the welding shop for the bumper to be worked on.
According to the welder, Mr. Nashiru, while working on the vehicle, he saw thick smoke coming out from the car.
Upon inspection, he realized the fire had already began in the car.
All efforts by the workers and eyewitnesses to control the fire proved futile until the Fire Service personnel arrived the scene.
However, they could not salvage the situation as the car was already burnt beyond repairs.
Sagnarigu Fire Station PRO, ASO. Nasir Abdul Hanan, who spoke to Adom News attributed their delay in arriving at the scene to the numerous speed ramps on the road.
ASO. Nasir urged all welders and other shop owners to get fire extinguisher to help them manage such situation before fire fighters arrived.
Mr. Hanan, therefore, appealed to the public to put fire educations into practice to help reduce fire outbreaks.
