A fierce fire on Monday ravaged a warehouse in the Tema Industrial Area, prompting an emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The building, which houses paper rolls for books, cement bags, and other materials, caught fire.
In a Facebook post, GNFS said thick black smoke billowed from the warehouse, raising concerns over potential damage to the goods stored inside.
The fire was reported at 16:13 GMT, and the first fire pump from the Tema Metro Fire Station arrived at the scene at 16:25 GMT. After intense firefighting efforts, the blaze was successfully confined by 17:57 GMT.
To douse the fire, six fire pumps were deployed from various fire stations, including Tema Metro, Newtown, Industrial Area, Ashaiman, Motorway, and Tema Oil Refinery Fire Stations.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby facilities.
