The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has revealed that the government will continue to supply organic and inorganic fertilisers and seeds to about 1.2 million farmers in Ghana.

He said the initiative is to significantly improve production in rice, soya beans, sorghum, cowpea, cassava, sweet potatoes and assaulted vegetables.
“Under the agric modernisation programme government will continue to supply organic and inorganic fertilisers and improve seeds to about 1.2 million farmers,” he said.

According to the Minister, the initiative is government’s own way to ensure pest control.
“In addition government will continue surveillance to keep pest under control to ensure food security,” he added.
