FIFA to investigate Paul Pogba transfer

-

A report from AFP has claimed that FIFA will investigate the transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United.

Pogba signed for United in the summer of 2016, joining from Italian champions Juventus in a world-record deal worth £89 million.

“Confirmation of the investigation came after French media reports said FIFA had opened an inquiry,” read a report on AFP’s website.

“It is not yet clear what aspect of the transfer FIFA is investigating.”

It was one of three transfers that agent Mino Raiola negotiated to United this summer, with Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all joining.

A report on Thursday in the Daily Mail based on an upcoming book called Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football, which is based on the research of Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger, discussed Pogba’s wages and his transfer to United.

He had initially left United to join Juve on a free in the summer of 2012, going on to help the club to win four straight Serie A titles as well as two Coppa Italias.
