Radio and TV personality, Jay Foley has debunked reports making the rounds that Accra-based music and lifestyle channel, Fiesta TV will pay artists for playing their music videos.
A report by Graphic Showbiz said Jay Foley was ready to pay musicians whose music videos aired on his channel according to the number of times played.
But Jay speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Thursday said Graphic Showbiz’s headline was far from the story.

According to him, his TV channel will not pay artistes but will rather gather playlist data for artistes after they’ve signed a deal to permit him to air their videos.
“The headline is not right. Fiesta is not paying artistes for playing their videos. We are looking forward to bringing about playlist content. I wanna encourage artistes to help us out with release forms to play their content. We also help artistes by providing data of how many times their songs are played so if an artiste wants information from us for their royalty content it becomes easy for them…” Jay told Andy.
He continued that “Fiesta is not paying artiste but providing data and information for their own reference. We are content providers and not having the license of space to do that…”
