Asante Kotoko Greater Accra Circles Chairman has revealed that representatives of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) have explained to the leadership of Kotoko why they will want their first 2019 CAF Confederations Cup game with a Cameroonian representative changed.
According to the management member of Asante Kotoko, General Secretary of FECAFOOT, Benjamin Balo met Dr Kwame Kyei and himself to explain that they are struggling to name a representative before November 28 because of some internal issues and thought it right to inform the club first.
“FECAFOOT representatives met Dr Kyei and me in Kumasi to explain that they will wish our first Confederations Cup game to be moved to December 6 but even though CAF has the final say, they only thought it right to tell us personally”, he said.
Speaking on Asempa FM, the affable administrator maintained that the request of the Cameroonians will not distort their preparations as the team has already departed to pitch camp in Mampong to intensify preparations and will only yield to responses from CAF.
“We do not have the final say in unfortunate issues like this so we are going by the calendar that was given to us by CAF and preparing towards November 28 when we are supposed to play our first game,” he said.
“We do not know the outcome of their meeting with the Normalization Committee yet but they are proposing we agree so we play the first game on December 6 when they have gotten a representative”, he added.
