The Ghana Airport Company Limited which manages the Kotoka International Airport has rubbished reports circulating on social media that the KIA’s newly-built Terminal 3 got flooded on Monday, after a downpour in parts of Accra.
In a post on Facebook, the aviation company said: “We can confirm that there was NO flooding at KIA, neither was there flooding in Terminal 3, as earlier reported”.
Some people on social media went wild on Monday following claims of flooding after brief rains in Accra.
The subject became the toast of supporters of the two main political parties (NPP and NDC) with each accusing the other.

Project details of Terminal 3
The new terminal comprises of five levels spread across an area of 48,268m² and semiclosed areas for the Baggage Make-up Areas of 28,260m², Ultra Modern facilities and capacity to handle 5 million passengers a year; capacity to process 1,250 passengers per hour; six boarding bridges; 7 links (expandable to 8 in the future); Large retail area (7000m²), CIP terminal and 707 Car parking slots and a new Road network.
