Fabewoso: Sekyere East DCE ‘fingered’ in school feeding rot [video]

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere East in the Ashanti region, Mary Boatemaa Marfo has been accused of misappropriating funds meant for Ghana School Feeding Programme.

According to an audit report, she allegedly awarded school feeding contracts to fictitious caterers, bloated enrollment figures and created non-existing schools.

“Following our reconciliation of third term payment files, we noticed some anomalies in the data received from the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region, that;

1.       Schools have been duplicated.

2.       Enrollment figures inflated.

3.       And names of non-existing caterers have been presented for payment,” the report revealed.

Attempts by the producers of Fabewoso, the anti-corruption segment on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem to get responses from the accused persons proved futile.

When reached for comments, the DCE said she will not speak on the matter.
