The emergency response unit in the country has moved from bad to worse given the limited access to ambulances during emergency cases.
According to reports, only 28 functioning ambulances are serving 29 million Ghanaians in all ten regions of the country.

On Adom FM’s anti-corruption segment Fabewoso Wednesday, show host, Captain Smart revealed that, the Ashanti region only has three ambulances operating in the entire region – a situation he described as sickening.
He noted that, there are also 130 ambulance service stations in the country, and each is supposed to have at least one ambulance, but due to the limited number of functioning ambulances in the country, many of the service centres ‘work’ without them.

However, Captain Smart revealed that, government risk paying judgement debt over a 2.4million Euros contract it signed with a private company, Big Sea.
The ambulances which look like sprinter buses fitted with kitchen panels have been parked at the military base in Accra.

Captain Smart noted that, government is now looking into why the supplier was paid despite the substandard supplies.
