-

A security officer at the Kade Senior High School (KASSTECH), 65-year-old Mr Jacob Oscar has accused the matron of the school of allegedly stealing food items meant for students.

Speaking to host Captain Smart on Adom FM’s flagship program Dwaso Nsem Monday, Mr Oscar said he became suspicious of a driver who supplies foodstuff to the school so he decided to inspect his truck on one Friday.

He said on uncovering the mat at the bucket of the truck, he saw gallons of cooking oil and other foodstuffs meant for students’ feeding, packaged by the matron of the school to be taken outside campus.

Upon querying the driver, Mr Oscar said, he claimed the school matron sent him on an errand but insisted the gallons contained gas and not cooking oil.

Oscar said further checks conducted by him and another security official confirmed that the items were cooking oil and not gas as claimed by the driver.

Mr Oscar continued that the matron phoned him to rubbish the claims and further insisted that the gallons contained water and not cooking oil as suggested by the driver so he should allow him to pass.

“Subsequently, she kept calling me so I hung up and at this point, the driver who had sensed danger, reversed the truck and quickly went to replace the oil with gallons of water as the matron promised to give me whatever I wanted”, he narrated.

When the Headmaster of the school, Mr Emmanuel Dankwa, was contacted, hegave another twist to the matter.

He confirmed the allegations but said the matron only told him upon inquiry that the items were cooking oil but explained that they were used cooking oil.
