Embattled District Finance Officer of Asuogyaman District Assembly in the Eastern Region, Bismarck Okrah, has blamed the Chief Executive of the district Samuel Kwame Agyekum for inflating the cost of projects at the district.
Mr Okrah alleges that all projects inflated in the district are sanctioned by the DCE, Kwame Agyekum.

Speaking on Adom FM’s anti-corruption programme FABEWOSO Monday, Mr Okrah said the DCE and his cronies were witch-hunting the district finance officer who is committed to protecting the public purse.
He cited how the DCE questioned him for insisting the cost of painting a four-bedroom bungalow was too high.

“The cost of painting the four-bedroom was GH₵13,000 and I told the painter to revise the price but the DCE claimed I’m challenging his authority because I’m just at the assembly to sign invoices,” he bemoaned.
Mr Okrah revealed that should his transfer go through, he will be the fourth district Finance Officer to be transferred under the DCE in just two years.

He has vowed to fight to ensure he is not unjustifiably transferred after just three months at post.
“I won’t allow this case to die a natural death because it is terrible. President Akufo-Addo must intervene if he is committed to fighting corruption,” he stated.
