The Ministry of Health has debunked claims that it imported ineffective anti-snake serum into the country.
Policy think tank, IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, demanded answers from the Minister of Health following a recent publication that ineffective anti-snake vaccines on the market have led to the death of some ten people.
According to reports, a teacher at the Wa West District Hospital in the Upper West Region was among victims of the fatalities.
Authorities at Wa West District Hospital, according to report, also said they have not received anti-snake vaccines from the Ghana Health Service for some time now, a situation that compels doctors to prescribe the drugs for patients to buy from pharmacies within Wa.
But the Health Ministry in a statement signed by the Chief Director, Nana Kwabena Adjei-Mensah said there are some inaccuracies in the IMANI publication.
