Expedite commissioning of Akrodie University – Chiefs urge gov’t

The chiefs of Akrodie in the Ahafo Region have called on the government to expedite the completion and commissioning of the University of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Akrodie to accelerate development in the area.

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs during a courtesy visit by the Ahafo Regional Minister and her entourage, the Kontihene, Nana Darko Kuffour, emphasized that governance is a continuous process.

He urged the government not to abandon the project initiated by the previous administration but to ensure its completion for the benefit of Ahafo and the entire nation.

According to Nana Darko Kuffour, the university, once commissioned, will significantly enhance development in Akrodie and its surrounding communities.

He, therefore, appealed to the new Regional Minister to prioritize the project and advocate for its completion at the highest level.

In response, Ahafo Regional Minister Charity Gardiner assured the chiefs that she would work diligently to see the university completed and commissioned, describing it as a landmark institution for the region.

She added that she had been briefed on the status of the project and, together with the Member of Parliament for the area, would take the necessary steps to ensure the university becomes operational as soon as possible.
