The Ghana Police Service has expressed satisfaction with the cooperation received from political parties and other stakeholders on the first day of the voters’ register exhibition, which runs until August 27, 2024.
“Today’s exercise has been smooth across the country. There were no incidents at any of the centers, and we are pleased to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure a successful exhibition exercise,” ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi told Starrfm.
She further stressed the Police’s commitment to working with party agents at the various centers, ensuring they operate without any hindrance.
“As you witnessed, the party agents worked seamlessly at all centers, with no one being restrained from monitoring. We look forward to continued cooperation as we move forward,” she added.
On Monday, the IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, assured that security agencies were fully prepared for the exhibition exercise.
“For the voter register exhibition starting tomorrow, we assure you that we are deploying personnel across all 38,622 polling stations, with a rapid response team ready to manage any situation with a de-escalation approach.
“Our goal is to ensure that the seven to eight days of this exercise are successful, peaceful, and contribute positively to the progress we’ve made as a nation and for the African continent,” the IGP stated during a working visit to the Electoral Commission’s premises on Monday.
