Ex-GFA boss hails Black Stars’ revival after Chad, Madagascar wins

-

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has praised the Black Stars for their impressive performances against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

After a disappointing 2024—where they won just two of their 10 matches and failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)—the Black Stars have started 2025 on a strong note.

Ghana secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Matchday 5 fixture before extending their fine form with a 3-0 triumph against Madagascar at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium in Morocco on Monday night.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe commended the team for their improved performance, highlighting their teamwork and discipline.

“The overall performance was better than what I’ve seen before,” the Hearts of Oak Board Member noted. “They demonstrated commitment and teamwork more than they used to. No player was trying to play to the gallery.”

With these back-to-back victories, the Black Stars now sit atop Group I with 15 points.

Otto Addo’s side will resume their qualification campaign in September, facing Chad away before hosting Mali in Matchdays 7 and 8.
