Everyone is down – Thomas Partey after Arsenal drawing at Brighton

-

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has voiced his frustration after the team dropped points in their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

The Gunners were hosted by the Seagulls at the AMEX Stadium, where Arsenal took the lead in the first half through a superb strike from young Ethan Nwaneri.

However, Brighton equalized after being awarded a penalty, which Joao Pedro successfully converted, ending the match in a 1-1 draw.

The result has raised concerns over Arsenal’s title hopes, with Partey admitting that the squad felt disheartened after the match.

“We are sad, frustrated, everybody is down but that’s part of football. We wanted to win, we wanted to keep the momentum going and at the end of the day, we didn’t get it,” the 30-year-old told the club website.

Despite the disappointment, Partey also highlighted a positive takeaway from the match, as Arsenal avoided defeat.

“But it’s also a positive one because we did not lose. We have to try our best and win these games because they’re the most important ones, but it’s not an easy game against a good side and to win here you have to be perfect.”

Looking ahead, Partey stressed the importance of moving on and focusing on future challenges.

“We need to forget about today and keep on working hard to win our next game,” he added.

Arsenal’s attention now shifts to their EFL Cup semifinal clash with Newcastle United on Tuesday.
