The Awutu Senya West NPP Constituency Executives have cautioned the NDC Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya and its members against blaming Eugene Arhin and DCE, Moses Arhinful for the arrest of the NDC Communications Officer and two others.
Awutu Senya West NDC Communications Officer, Cassious Larbi and two others were remanded into police custody by the Awutu Bereku District Court.
They were accused of threatening to attack a man who tried to prevent them from damaging the DRIP machines.
Police sources indicate that the suspects not only destroyed posters of Vice President Alhaji Bawumia and Eugene Arhin on the DRIP machines but also attempted to remove the machines’ driving mirrors.
They allegedly threatened to kill the witness who caught them in the act.
The suspects have been remanded into police custody and are set to reappear in court on Monday.
During a press conference, Awutu Senya West NPP Constituency Communications Director Ephraim Fiifi Aidoo clarified that the suspects were not remanded for removing the posters.
Instead, they were detained for threatening behavior and attempting to destroy the machines.
Mr Aidoo also urged NDC members to stop attributing their actions to Eugene Arhin and DCE Moses Arhinful.
In addition, Awutu Senya West NPP Constituency Chairman, Roland Paul Aidoo called on NDC members to refrain from creating insecurity in the constituency.
DCE for Awutu Senya West, Moses Arhinful, also appealed to the NDC to stop spreading falsehoods against him and damaging his reputation.
