It was a near fatal accident when a commercial bus (trotro) driver at top speed suddenly veered off the road and crashed into a church building at St. John’s, a suburb of Accra.
The incident occurred on Sunday at about 1:30 pm, a few hours after the Freedom Embassy Worldwide Church had ended its service.

The driver of the bus is said to be suffering from epilepsy and was suddenly ailed by the sickness, thereby losing control of the vehicle in the process.
He nearly killed a barber named Mawuli who was standing by the road.

Some passengers in the vehicle with registration number AS 1889 – 14, two of whom got injured, said the driver suddenly started shivering prior to the accident.
An elderly woman, Rita Akufo-Boafo, who was also in the car collapsed in the process.

The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital in a taxi cab after the bus had badly smashed the fence wall of the church.
Founder and General Overseer of the Freedom Embassy Worldwide Church, Rev. John Asiedu, summoned the Mile 7 Police Command to the accident scene.
However, he was told to take the victims to the hospital and tow the vehicle to the police station himself, a situation he described as unprofessional on the part of the police.
