The Minority spokesperson on Employment, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has claimed that the Employment Minister presented to Ghanaians the number of army worms that has descended on crops in Ghana since Nana Akufo-Addo came to power instead of number of jobs the government has created.
The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah disclosed to the press on May Day that the Akufo-Addo government has created over one million jobs since it took over the administration of the State in January 2017.

He said the jobs were mainly from the formal sector.
“Between January 2017 and March 2018, a total of 1,096,404 various jobs within the formal space as a result of the various interventions from His Excellency, the president. The details of these jobs are with me, and I will make them available to the press for their deeper consideration of the figures,” he added.
Reacting to this, Alhaji Fuseini said the Minister presented to the nation, figures on the number of army worms that are currently in Ghana and not the number of employment opportunities created by President Akufo-Addo.
“There is no truth in what the Minister said that is why I said, probably he was counting army worms and not jobs…,” he said.

The claim, he said, is based on the fact that the numbers differ from what President Akufo- Addo presented in the 2018 State of the Nation Address and hence Ghanaians cannot accept the supposed numbers being announced by the Employment Minister.
He says the minority will peruse the figures when they Parliament resumes so they will expose the hypocrisy of Government.
