Election: Asiedu Nketia files nomination for Mahama

-

The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has officially submitted the presidential nomination forms for the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama.

The submission took place on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Electoral Commission’s office.

During the filing, Mr. Nketia remarked, “We have brought with us a duly completed nomination form, and I commend you for making the forms available online so we didn’t have to come here physically to pick them up.”

The nomination forms, completed in quadruplicate as required by law, were submitted along with all necessary documents, including a tax clearance certificate and a declaration from the audit service in compliance with Article 286 of the 1992 Constitution.

He also presented a banker’s draft covering the filing fees, along with the required photographs of the correct size, as stipulated in the forms.

Mr. Nketia also provided details of Mr. Mahama’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, stating, “We are hopeful that she is going to be the first female vice president of the Republic of Ghana.”

Additionally, he submitted banker’s drafts covering the filing fees for all 276 NDC parliamentary candidates nationwide.

“We trust that your district offices will be notified so they don’t request additional payments from our candidates. At this point, we are pleased to submit these documents for your review and look forward to a declaration that our candidate has fully complied with the requirements,” he added.
