Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of fabricating fake opinion polls ahead of the December 7 election.
This according to him, is to counter the credible polls that have predicted the NDC’s victory.
Mr Mahama said this during his campaign in the North East Region.
The poll showed Mahama capturing 51.1% of committed voters, while Bawumia trails with 37.3%.
“All the credible opinion polls have predicted that the NDC is going to win and because of that, government and the NPP have started publishing fake opinion polls that have no methodology, you cannot find the people that did it.
“So ignore all the fake polls. Everything indicate and every credible and proper opinion polls shows that the NDC is going to win; Economic Intelligence Unit, Fitch Solutions, Global InfoAnalytics among others,” he said.
Earlier this week, a poll by Global InfoAnalytics projected that the former President is maintaining a considerable lead over NPP’s Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
However, Mr Mahama has said the NDC will not be complacent due to the favourable polls.
“But of course we must not be complacent. We need to protect every vote and that is why in this election all of us are going to be polling agents,” he added.
