The presidential candidate of the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabla, has announced that she will not pursue legal action following her disqualification from the upcoming December presidential election.
The Electoral Commission (EC) disqualified Ms. Nabla for failing to rectify errors on her nomination form.
In a statement released on Thursday, the PNP disagreed with the EC’s decision but confirmed that Nabla would not challenge it in court.
“After consulting with members nationwide, the party has decided to move on and focus on obtaining its final certification to operate as a fully recognized political party,” the statement read.
The PNP emphasized that its role goes beyond contesting elections, highlighting its mission to educate citizens on political issues, government policies, and their societal impact.
“The PNP will also hold the government accountable by reviewing policies, proposing alternatives, and promoting transparency,” the statement added.
