The Managing Director of Appointed Time Printing Press, Jacqueline Afful, has appealed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to print their campaign paraphernalia in China.
Madam Afful has said her outfit is readily available and can handle the demand and should therefore consider bringing them to Appointed Time.
“I wish I was at Channel One TV, I would have knelt down, we are pleading with them that capacity is here, the quality we can do the same and once we do this, all the unemployment we speak about, we could also give employment to some Ghanaians around this time.
“For us in Appointed Time, once we do this, we are also able to train the people on printing. So, some of them leave and then they can set up their small printing businesses alone,” she appealed in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM.
The Managing Director’s request comes in the wake of reports that the two dominant parties are allegedly printing their election materials outside Ghana.
According to Madam Afful, such practice threatens the growth of the local industry.
“I will use your medium to appeal to the parliamentarians, political parties and businesses that sponsor politicians that at Appointed Time Printing, we have the capacity, we are competitive enough to deliver the political paraphernalia,” she added.
