Election 2024: Do not to be intimated by men in uniforms and guns – Gbande to NDC supporters

-

The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has urged electorates along the Ghana-Togo border not to be intimidated by men in uniforms carrying guns.

He called on them to cooperate with security forces to ensure peace and tranquillity during Saturday’s polls.

Mr. Gbande made this statement when he joined Eden’s Agbana, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu North, at a rally in Dzodze during his operational border review tour along the Ghana-Togo border in the Volta Region.

“They will bus criminals to come and threaten our people. The route they take to arrive should not be the route for them to exit. This is our home, our stronghold, and the NPP will not intimidate us here,” he declared.

“Eye Zu, Eye Za! If you see an immigration officer, don’t be afraid. If you see a military officer, don’t be afraid. If you see a police officer, don’t be afraid. But when they bring people to intimidate you, mobilize yourselves and intimidate them in return,” he added.

“In our villages, there were weapons, but there was also juju. Before weapons, there were men. Mobilize yourselves and protect the election Ghanaians are going to conduct,” he said.

He also emphasized that the NDC is a peace-loving party that prioritizes national development when in power.

He stressed that the 2024 general elections “are for us [NDC] to win and preserve our country” and urged party supporters to campaign vigorously to secure a victory.

Mr. Gbande called on the electorate in the Ketu North Constituency to vote for Edem Agbagba to make him the youngest Member of Parliament in the Fourth Republic.
