President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his unwavering confidence in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s readiness to serve as Ghana’s next president.
Speaking during a meeting with members of Organised Labour on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that Dr. Bawumia has acquired extensive knowledge and experience over the past seven years, equipping him to lead the nation effectively.
The President highlighted that a vote for Dr. Bawumia represents a vote for continuity, progress, and development.
“I have no doubt in my mind that my vice president, who spent eight years with me in opposition and served as a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana when I first met him and invited him to join me in politics—eight years in opposition and eight years in government—has the preparation needed to be president today.
“My appeal to you is that, on Saturday, as you cast your ballot, take a close look at the elephant,” he urged.
