The Deputy Minister for Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide, has lauded the female students of Ejisuman Senior High School (SHS) who exposed their male teachers over the mass sexual abuse in the school.
According to him, the young girls are heroes for taking the bull by the horn to blow the cover of such unscrupulous teachers to save others.
The Ashanti Region-based SHS was in the news after a leaked tape of a head teacher and a 19-year-old student went viral.

Following investigations, it emerged that several female students have been abused by the teachers in the school. The victims later accused the male teachers of sexual exploitation.
Based on this backdrop, the Ghana Education Service (GES) set up a special committee to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against some teachers at the School.
The committee after its investigations, found eight teachers guilty of inappropriate sexual advances on the students and has recommended various forms of punishment for them.

However, there are reports that some students were threatened after they reported and made an appearance at the investigative committee.
But on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Monday, Mr. Hadzide called on school authorities to protect the students who were bold to expose their teachers.
He indicated that some of the victims could drop out of school due to victimization from teachers after coming before the committee.

The Deputy Minister said such constant harassments of students for sex in exchange for good grades by teachers has brought “such a noble profession like teaching into disrepute”.
“These teachers found guilty should not be spared. They have disgraced those of us in the noble profession. I plead with GES not to shield any of them”, he stated.
Pius Hadzide called on students experiencing same to come out boldly for the culprits to be punished.
