The bank said in a statement the gesture is part of fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility, for which it has established long-standing relationships with medical schools in Ghana, spanning over 15 years.
“Each year, the bank provides financial support to selected students to enable them to travel abroad on exchange programmes,” it said.
This, according to the bank, forms part of the bank’s larger Corporate Social Responsibility policy, which covers the three areas of Health, Education and Financial Inclusion.

The Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, Mr Dan Sackey remarked that; “It is my expectation that as medical students and future physicians you will become powerful agents of change. You must approach this opportunity with a teachable spirit that will ensure that you return from this short stint with great exposure that will have a strong impact on your life journey.”
He further counselled the student beneficiaries that their first sacrifice must include the willingness to accept postings to health care facilities anywhere in the country to help save precious lives of the rural folks.
