Senior Vice President of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has refuted claims that containers linked to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) are missing, insisting that it is not possible for them to be unaccounted for, as they would have had proper documentation throughout their movement.
Mr. Bentil emphasized that certain officials are aware of the current location of the containers and should be compelled to disclose this information, regardless of whether they are still in office.
He stressed that Ghana is not in a state of anarchy and that systems and institutions must function effectively.
“We can’t afford to continue this anarchic arrangement,” he asserted.
Bentil underlined the importance of accountability and called for individuals with knowledge about the missing containers to be identified and held responsible.
He further argued that in a well-functioning state, those suspected of wrongdoing should be traced and questioned.
Describing the situation as a failure of governance, Mr. Bentil urged for systemic responses and decisive action from the authorities to resolve the matter, insisting that Ghana cannot continue under such circumstances.
