ECG addresses power outages after heavy rainfall

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed the power outage experienced on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in parts of the country to a heavy rainstorm.

In a statement, ECG the storm disrupted their network, causing interruptions to power supply for several customers.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of the country today, Saturday, 26th April, 2025, has caused some outages within our network,” the statement said.

ECG has assured customers that their technical teams were actively addressing the situation.

 

“ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply,” the statement added, highlighting their commitment to restoring normal service as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, ECG has apologised for the inconvenience caused, stating it is deeply regretted.
