EC is the greatest threat to Ghana’s democracy – Nyaho-Tamakloe

-

A founding member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the Electoral Commission (EC) is handling its operations.

Speaking at an anti-corruption event held at the GNAT Hall in Accra on Monday, September 2, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe cautioned that the EC’s current conduct poses a significant threat to the nation’s democracy.

He expressed deep concern, stating, “At the moment, the greatest threat to our democracy is the Electoral Commission. If we are not careful, they will lead this country into destruction, mark my words.”

The NPP man questioned the Commission’s decision to transfer voters between constituencies without proper consent, calling it a dangerous move that could disrupt the electoral process.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe’s concerns are rooted in recent developments that he believes have been poorly managed by the EC.

Reflecting on his past experiences, including time spent in prison following a coup d’etat, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe emphasized the seriousness of the situation, warning that the nation could face dire consequences if the EC’s actions continue unchecked.
