The Electoral Commission (EC) has rejected a request from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for a live broadcast of a meeting intended to discuss issues with the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) ahead of the December 7 general elections.
In a letter to the EC, the NDC called for the meeting to be aired live, citing the need for transparency in addressing the concerns raised about the provisional voters register.
In its response, the EC noted that the discrepancies highlighted by the NDC are not new and, as such, a live broadcast is unnecessary.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to conducting “free, fair, transparent, peaceful, and credible elections” but declined the proposal for live coverage, confirming its readiness to meet with the NDC at the scheduled time.
Below is the EC’s response.
