The 2024 parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tema Central, Ebi Bright, has been nominated as the new Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) in the Greater Accra Region.
Her nomination, however, has sparked protests from some residents in the area, who have raised concerns over her appointment.
Ludwig Totimeh has also been nominated as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tema West.
The appointments were made in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017.
Both nominations are pending approval by the respective Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies.
