The Eastern Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has organized its Women’s Wing Conference in Akwatia, located in the Denkyembour District.

The event, themed “Repositioning Women for Maximum Impact in Breaking the Eight,” aimed to empower NPP women to work effectively towards securing victory in this year’s general elections.

Addressing the conference, the Second Lady of Ghana, Her Excellency Samira Bawumia, highlighted the need for a competent leader to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

She endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the ideal candidate to lead the country, citing his comprehensive policies and bold solutions to the nation’s economic challenges.

She urged women in the party to unite and work hard to ensure an NPP victory in the 2024 elections, allowing the party to continue its developmental agenda for Ghana.

Mrs. Bawumia also called on NPP women to support their parliamentary candidates in various constituencies to secure parliamentary dominance, ensuring smooth governance for the party.

In addition to Mrs. Bawumia, other national and regional NPP executives present at the conference echoed the call for active participation from the women’s wing, emphasizing the critical role they play in helping the party break the “eight” and remain in power after the December 7 polls.
