In a historic moment of determination and unity, the people of Dzita-Agbledomi have turned their 2025 Easter Homecoming Festival into a lifeline for survival, launching an urgent GHC 250,000 campaign to bring clean, safe water to twelve communities left grappling with thirst, disease, and despair.
For far too long, families in Lafekpodzi, EgboKorpe, Kalazegbor, Agornume, Agbenorwokpikorpe, Gadahkorpe, Geyevukorpe, Ahiadorkordzi, Nyornugbatsugbor, Agbonu, Adenyokorpe, and Agortsite have battled a silent crisis. Without reliable water infrastructure, residents have been forced to risk their lives daily, drinking from contaminated sources and living with preventable illnesses. For children, mothers, and the elderly, every day has been a struggle against the most basic of human needs.
Now, under the fearless leadership of Dr. David Esinu Yao Normanyo—Executive Secretary of the Dzita Development Association (DDA), Assembly Member for Dzita Electoral Area, and Chairman of the DDA Project Execution Committee—the community is rising to rewrite its story.
“This is a fight for life,” Dr. Normanyo declared. “Clean water is the foundation of health, dignity, and development. We refuse to accept that our people should suffer another year without it.”
The initiative seeks to fund the installation of 12 new water points across the underserved communities by purchasing 5,000 meters of piping and covering all labor and processing costs. Every cedi raised brings the community one step closer to eradicating the burden of unsafe drinking water—a burden that has stunted dreams and stolen lives for too long.
This is no ordinary fundraiser. This is a movement. A powerful testament to what a united people can achieve when they choose hope over helplessness.
The DDA is calling on all sons and daughters of Dzita, corporate Ghana, NGOs, philanthropists, and concerned citizens everywhere to stand with them in this critical mission. Whether through financial donations, materials, or services, every contribution counts in this race against time.
As Dzita rallies around this bold cause, the 2025 Easter Homecoming Festival will not just be remembered for its celebrations but for sparking a transformation—a movement that turned the dream of clean water into a reality for thousands.
