Parliament has approved three more of President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial nominees.
The nominees are Ketu South MP; Abla Dzifa Gomashie Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, George Opare-Addo; Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment and Shama MP; Emelia Arthur, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The approval on Thursday, January 23, follows their vetting and extensive debates in the House.
Madam Gomashie, a renowned advocate for arts and culture, is expected to enhance the sector by promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage and increasing revenue.
As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Youth Organiser, Mr Opare-Addo also seeks to tackle challenges facing young people, including employment, education and empowerment programs.
Emelia Arthur will focus on improving sustainability and productivity in the fisheries and aquaculture sector wither her experience in rural development and fisheries to serve as a guide.
Meanwhile, President Mahama on Wednesday swore in six of his ministers who were earlier approved by parliament.
