Dutch forward Memphis Depay has confirmed plans to arrange a friendly match between his club, Corinthians, and Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko.
Depay shared this exciting news during a visit to Kotoko’s training grounds at Adako Jachie on Thursday, December 26.
In a video posted by the club, the former Manchester United and Barcelona star offered words of encouragement to the players and technical team.
The striker, who has Ghanaian roots, then revealed his initiative to organize a friendly between the Kumasi-based club and the Brazilian side.
“I like what I see and I will urge you to keep going. Never give up. I respect all of you guys. I’m trying to raise something for the team to maybe play a friendly game against my team (Corinthians) in Brazil,” he said.
“It’s in the plans so let’s hope we can make it happen so that you guys can showcase your talent,” he added.
In the meantime, Asante Kotoko will take on Bibiani Gold Stars in a Matchday 15 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, December 27.
