Ghanaian actor-turned-politician John Dumelo has expressed gratitude following his nomination as Deputy Minister-Designate for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

In a social media post, Dumelo thanked the president for entrusting him with the role, pledging to serve diligently and contribute meaningfully to the agricultural sector.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank my boss, H.E. @JDMahama, for nominating me as Deputy Minister-Designate for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. I am truly grateful. Thank you, Sir,” he wrote.

Dumelo’s appointment comes as no surprise, given his active involvement in agribusiness. With large-scale farms across Ghana, he has created employment for many and has consistently championed agriculture as a driver of economic growth.

He has also been a vocal advocate for changing perceptions about farming, particularly among the youth, emphasizing its potential as a lucrative business.
