Dumelo pledges school-and-work programs for students if elected MP

Actor and politician John Dumelo has outlined a series of educational support initiatives he intends to roll out if elected as the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon.

His proposed School-and-Work (SAW) program will create opportunities for university students to engage in remote work while studying, providing them with experience and financial independence without compromising their academics.

Dumelo also highlighted plans to collaborate with the private sector to build affordable student hostels, aiming to ease housing challenges for students in the constituency.

He is confident that the first hostel will be ready within 12 months of assuming office, and tasked his constituents to hold him responsible if he fails in that bid.

In addition, Dumelo expressed a commitment to financially support constituents pursuing tertiary education, ensuring that no student defers due to unpaid fees.

Meanwhile, the candidate is currently providing chop boxes containing basic provisions and cash allowances for senior high school (SHS) freshers in the constituency to support their studies and ease the burden on families.
