A driver and his mate have been arrested for assaulting a firefighter, ADO II Abdul Aziz Annor stationed at the Ministries Fire Station, Accra.
The incident according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) happened while ADOII Annor was replenishing a fire truck at La Palm T-Junction.
The victim sustained a fractured ankle and is receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital, with surgery scheduled for next week.
The suspects have been arrested, and court proceedings will continue on September 09, 2024.
Meanwhile, GNFS has pledged commitment to providing the best care for the injured firefighter and will pursue legal actions to ensure justice.
The Service has also condemned the attack and reminded the public that assaulting firefighters is unlawful and will be met with severe legal consequences.
