Dr Orleans–Lindsay appointed first Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University

The Governing Council of Cape Coast Technical University has appointed Dr James Condua Orleans–Lindsay as its first Chancellor.

A globally-respected TEDx speaker and business mogul, Dr Orleans–Lindsay ranks among Ghana’s most cherished business leaders.

He is the CEO of JL Properties and Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, with interests in real estate, agriculture and more.

His multiple business interests span the construction, beverages, security, bakery, supplies, agriculture, aquaculture, and consultancy industries in Africa and Europe.

He is an alumnus of St Peter’s Senior Secondary School (Nkwatia), O’Level Certificate, St Augustine’s College, Cape Coast, A’ Level Certificate (Science), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry.

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Construction Management (University of Salford), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Construction Management (University of Hertfordshire), Certification Programme in Real Estates Finance (The London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE) and Certification Programme in Real Estate Development (Saïd Business School, University of Oxford).

Dr Lindsay is a keen sports enthusiast, having once served as a Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club, and is presently a CAF Coaching certificate A’ holder. He serves on the Board of Governors at the All Nations University.

Dr James Condua Orleans–Lindsay brings to the position a rich mix of entrepreneurial and academic qualifications.

He has received numerous awards for his entrepreneurial achievements and contributions to society. His work embodies innovation, leadership and commitment to making a positive impact.

He served as a former president of the Ghana Association of Young Entrepreneurs, and is currently, a Chief patron for the Cape Coast Youth Development Association.

Dr James Condua Orleans–Lindsay was born in Cape Coast but grew up in Koforidua and Accra.

He is a Christian and married to Nana Ama Abrefi Lindsay. They have two daughters and two sons.

He loves to read autobiographies of great achievers and watch documentaries in his leisure time. His appointment takes effect from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2029.
