PHOTOS: Dr. Bawumia arrives in Ghana

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has arrived in Ghana following a 12-day medical leave in the United Kingdom.
He touched down from British Airways Flight minutes after 8:00pm,He was met on arrival at the airport by President Nana Akufo-Addo and the first lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
The Vice President looked very strong beaming with smiles as he interacted with Ministers of State who were at the Kotoka International Airport to welcome him.

The Chief of State, Frema Osei Opare, Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, Trade Minister, Alan Kyereman, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu,  Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama, Agric Minister, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Minister for Aviation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah and many others gave him a rousing welcome.
Dr. Bawumia has been out of the country on sick leave for 12 days on the advice of his doctors.

Details about the sickness were sketchy. However, a statement announcing his departure to the UK on medical leave triggered a lot of speculations and controversy.
Many suggested the sickness was more serious and the government was keeping vital information from the citizens.

The Minority in Parliament demanded a detailed briefing on the health status of the vice president, a demand the Information Minister Mustapha Hamid thought was unnecessary.
Dr. Bawumia’s return has put to rest speculations that he was bedridden battling stroke.
