Jomoro Member of Parliament(MP), Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has fought off claims of being a social media MP due to her increasing presence.

The first-time MP has been very vibrant on social media by posting updates about her work, which ranges from community empowerment to youth apprenticeship, among other gestures that have the potential to win her votes.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, she stressed that the attacks on her social media presence do not scare her.

“The NDC-UK has supported my campaign with over 1,000 t-shirts, and how did they know about me? It is because of the good work I share on social media. When it comes to women, people look at us differently. Some male MPs are doing the same and even more than what I’m doing, but for women, they will call you names.

“You go to church and post pictures of yourself thanking God, and they will call you a slay queen,” she bemoaned.

She emphasized that social media is an effective tool that helps her connect with constituents, especially in the diaspora, to stay abreast of developments in the area.

“I am not a social media MP, but it is okay if that is what they say. However, nobody has told me that, and my people are happy with me. I see my position as MP as an opportunity to help alleviate poverty in my constituency and change the lives of people.”

“I have embarked on several infrastructural project and has even earned me the name Bridge Queen in my constituency,” she stated.

The lawmaker added, “People must know that being an MP must not be boring but you can also have fun while taking care of your constituents.”
