Former President John Dramani Mahama has urged voters to prioritize experience over empty slogans, particularly targeting the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He cautioned against candidates using the “Try me too” slogan, stressing that leadership should be rooted in proven experience, not empty promises.
In a statement, Mahama said, “Voters should not be swayed by catchy phrases like ‘Try me too’ or ‘It is possible’—these slogans do not provide the solutions we need. We must focus on the track record and the experience of those seeking leadership.”
Mahama said the upcoming elections should be about choosing a candidate with a clear vision and the ability to navigate Ghana’s challenges effectively.
“What this country needs is leadership with a plan, not trial and error. We need leaders who understand the issues and have the competence to address them,” he said.
The former president also expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would secure a victory in the December elections.
“I believe the people of Ghana are ready for change, and the NDC is the party that will bring that change,” Mahama declared. “Together, we will build a brighter future for all Ghanaians.”
He urged voters to make informed decisions and consider the qualifications and experiences of candidates before casting their ballots.
“Let’s vote for experience, vision, and a proven track record,” he concluded.
