Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has called on the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, to adopt a diplomatic approach in working with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) rather than taking a confrontational stance.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the former Black Starlets coach emphasized the need for strategic governance to ensure proper administration within the FA.
“I’m urging the government to take a firm stance. They shouldn’t go in to fight the FA because FIFA doesn’t allow government interference, but they should use their diplomatic powers to ensure measures are put in place for the FA to be run properly,” he said.
Kingston, who stepped down as Black Starlets coach due to alleged interference from the GFA, is currently coaching at RPS Academies in the United States.
Meanwhile, the senior national team, the Black Stars, are set to resume international duty with crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
