Don’t fall for NDC’s cocoa price deception – Napo urges farmers

-

The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, is urging cocoa farmers not to be deceived by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the issue of cocoa prices.

He stressed that, the NPP government cares more about their welfare than any other party.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Nobekaw, located in the Asunafo South Constituency, Dr. Opoku Prempeh highlighted the incumbent MP Eric Opoku’s role in representing the NDC on agricultural and cocoa issues.

He stated, “The NPP has increased cocoa prices from over 400 cedis to over 2,000 cedis in the last seven years, and very soon, cocoa prices will go up again to bring more value to farmers.”

He further cautioned the people to be wary of the NDC’s tactics.

“The NDC has not dealt well with cocoa farmers during the years they were in government. Be careful of their deception on cocoa issues” Napo added.

Ahafo Regional Minister, George Yaw Boakye, also addressed the crowd, encouraging them to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who he said has the experience needed to help resolve some of the challenges facing the country.

He emphasized, “Let Dr. Bawumia use his experience to solve the challenges we face. Reject any attempt to paint the NPP Parliamentary Candidate as an outsider.”

Frank Aduse Poku, the NPP Parliamentary candidate and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, assured the people of his commitment.

“I have worked hard enough as DCE to earn your trust. If you send me to Parliament, I will do even more to bring development to our community” he noted.
