Youth and sports minister, Isaac Asiamah has urged the Black Starlets to put in their best as they prepare to compete at the world stage in India.
Asiamah confirmed government’s continuous support for the success of the starlets especially as Ghana has been absent on the big stage for a long time now.
“I am proud of you all having qualified for the World Cup and do well to make Ghana proud and make a mark for yourselves. On our part as Government, everything has been put in place for you to excel,” he told the players.
Isaac Asiamah and GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi who accompanied the team to pay a courtesy call on the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana were optimistic of the Starlets chances in India.
“The Starlets have the quality to win the World Cup after some of the players were released by their clubs to join the team.
“I believe they will improve the quality of the team as they prepare to win the competition for the third time for the country,” Kwesi Nyantakyi said in an interview with the Graphic Sports.
The team has been drawn in Group A with tournament hosts India, Colombia, and the USA
The tournament will be staged from 6th to 28th October 2017.
