Don’t be perturbed about AFCON disappointment – Mahama tells Black Stars

-

President John Dramani Mahama has encouraged the Black Stars to remain optimistic despite missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking to the team at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, Mahama urged them to put the disappointment behind them and focus on their World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

“Before you start the qualifiers, let’s put the AFCON debacle behind us and look forward, knowing that we can redeem ourselves,” he said.

He expressed confidence in their ability to bounce back, emphasizing the importance of regaining the trust of Ghanaian supporters.

The Black Stars will host Chad on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24, in their bid to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
