The Managing Editor for the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has urged President Akufo-Addo to resist needless collateral in his fight against corruption.
Mr Baako’s advice is based on his knowledge that there are attempts within government to shield the secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCM), Mr Charles Bissue.
Mr Bissue was implicated in Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Galamsey fraud expose.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Monday, Mr Baako said the president and his administration must resist the temptation to protect members of government caught in the documentary by the Tiger Eye Pi investigative team.

“The president should wake up; he must not attract needless collateral in the fight against corruption when his appointees misbehave but must leave them to fight their own fight,” he stated.
Speaking on the submission of the unedited tape of the Galamsey fraud expose by Tiger Eye to the president, Mr Baako also revealed that the tape has already been made available to the Special Prosecutor who has also expressed interest in activating the case.

“We are dealing with the special prosecutor and if
he thinks he wants to hand the tape to the CID that is fine but the people
involved cannot choose the ground they want to have their battle,” he stated
“People always try to joke with serious issues but some of us did not fight to bring the country to this level for jokes so the IMCM or Charles Bissue is better advised to comply with the special prosecutor,” he added.
